The Coast!
2,414 kilometers (1,500 miles) of ruggedly
beautiful desert on the western edge of South America. To the south,
Chile. To the north, Ecuador. Sandwiched between the vast Pacific Ocean
and the towering Andes.
And sitting right in the middle along that narrow stretch of coast is
Lima, the heart and soul of the country. Peru Coast Insider takes you
to the small towns, large cities, and beach resorts along the way.
During our journey, I'll do my best to provide useful
information on...

> great bars and restaurants
> budget lodging to high-end hotels
> foods to die for and what to avoid
> fitness and health while traveling
> real estate contracts and apartment rentals
> investment opportunities and more...
People along the coast are known for their warm hospitality.
The mild climate and awesome food leads to a relaxed
way of life . The cheap
cost of living doesn't hurt either.

You may be
thinking, "Isn't Peru known for the
Andes mountains and Amazon jungle?" ... YES!
There are many awesome inland
attractions.
Most popular among them is "Machu
Picchu", the famed Lost
City of the Incas.
Other inland wonders include:
- Lake Titicaca - the world's highest navigable
lake
- Colca Canyon - the deepest canyon on the planet
- Manu Biosphere - a rainforest park home to more
species of animals and plants than any other park on Earth
So it's
easy to see why the coast
may be
overlooked.
But
that's exactly why you should visit! The towns and ruins that
sprinkle the coastline are every bit as spectacular - with as much
history, culture
and mystery - as their inland counterparts. Hidden
gems without the throngs of tourists.
Off the Beaten Path
Of course there are challenges to living
here, especially for foreigners, but most are easily overcome with a
little patience and a positive attitude. This place has come a long way
in just the last few years and is growing like mad.
If you're willing to stray "off the beaten path", an incredible
journey awaits.
You may not have known this place existed before, but as you're about
to find out, you might like it so much you just want to stay a while. I did.
Come and see.
